Menfi, formerly known as Inico or Inycon, is located in the valley of the Belice and Carboi rivers in the south-western part of Sicily. It is a main town in wine production and agriculture and has also enjoyed a clean Blue Flag beach with fine golden sand for over 20 years.
The town of Menfi has over 6000 hectares of cultivated vineyards, making it one of the largest vineyards in Europe. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday, Menfi might be the perfect choice for you, as you can enjoy good wine and clean sea, as well as nearby cultural attractions.
The Palazzo Pignatelli is located in the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and is now a malacological museum. A few years ago, a group of excavation workers discovered a necropolis dated between 300 and 400 AD, with the discovery of 16 burials. Currently, work is underway to restore it.
The Biblioteca Civica Federico II is hosting an exhibition ‘New Idea of Ceramic Design’ by the artist Gaspare Patti. Besides Menfi, there are other cultural attractions to visit, such as the Mother Church of Sant’Antonio da Padova and the Church of San Giuseppe.
The Menfi beach is about 10 km long and has several beaches, including Portopalo, Lido Fiori, Serrone Cipollazzo, Giache Bianche and Sollette. If you are looking for a place to spend a fun evening, Menfi offers several options to enjoy dinner, an aperitif, an ice cream or a coffee, and a taxi service is available to take you where you want to go.
